Town carpets and rugs tend to be a finer weave and more formal Some town names Tabriz Isphahan Nain Bidjar Qum Keshan are probably the best known carpets and rugs and are associated with fine homes and palaces. These also tend to be the finest
Village rugs and carpets are less fine than the rugs made in towns, but like the tribal made rugs have lots of character. They may not be strait, patterns not matching, colours that change in the rug depending on dye batch (known as abrash).
Tribal There are not too many tribes left in existence today. Tribes such as Afshar have settled in various villages such as shahbabach and sirjan. Qashqai Tribe is still nomadic and produce some lovely rugs with real character. Very informal
